I beg to acknowledge, with thanks, the communication

from the Department of September the 18th, regarding the

present vacancy at the Government Civil Hospital, Hong Kong.

Owing to the holidays, all Committee Meetings have

been suspended since July, but will be resumed in the very

beginning of October, when the Committee will consider the

application of a candidate who has in the meantime applied

for the present vacancy in that Colony. I shall, therefore,

hope to communicate with the Department further on the

matter on October the 2nd.
